If you’re looking for my blog, go here. This is just the obligatory website.

I’m a writer and director, based in Chicago. Favorite scripted projects include Eye of the Sandman, a horror comedy, Earth to Margaret, an original musical that premiered at the Acorn TheatreOscar Wilde’s Picture of Dorian Gray, an adaptation commissioned for Flying Leap Radio Theater, and Infernal, a new play first written at the La MaMa Umbria International Playwright Retreat.

My prose and poetry have been published in After HoursSwivel, Crawdad Literary Journal, and Hippocampus Magazine, who nominated my story “Toothbrush” for a 2014 Pushcart Prize. My films have screened at the Gene Siskel Film CenterChicago Improv Festival, Midwest Independent Film Festival, and festivals across the world. I’ve told stories at This Much Is TrueHere’s the Story, Tuesday Funk, Speak Easy Speak Hard, That’s All She Wrote, and… yeah, there’s a lot of live lit going on in Chicago right now.

Audio pieces have aired on Chicago Theatre Off Book and Small Fish Radio Theatre.

The Chicago Reader was kind enough to praise my “wonderful ear for dialogue and the natural humor of family and romantic situations.” Wisely, they did not mention my personal struggle with the arc of a story, which is how Midwestern Robot came about.

My big dilemma this morning is, do I go all self-righteous with the City of Chicago? Or keep it polite and concise? “It’s bad enough that you SOLD the entire city’s metered parking rights to a private company that jacks … Continue reading → […]
